The building sector is one of the three major areas of energy consumption and one of the main responsible areas for carbon emissions. In 2021, the total energy consumption of commercial buildings during the operational phase accounts for approximately 21% of the national energy consumption. Therefore, the building sector urgently needs to carry out in-depth energy conservation and emission reduction efforts, and develop implementable and feasible decarbonization paths. This research focuses on buildings at the community park scale and proposes a building decarbonization dynamics model towards carbon neutrality based on the Kaya model. It delves into the more microscopic technical aspects, analysing the economic activity level, energy conservation and consumption reduction level, and energy structure that affect carbon emissions. Further focusing on the decarbonization actions at the community park scale, it is proposed that the decarbonization actions of the heating system, cooling system, and terminal system should start from an internal and external collaborative working mode. Taking the zero-carbon renovation project of existing buildings in community parks in the cold zone of China as an example, the feasibility and operability of the model are preliminarily verified.
